After graduating first in his Dental School class from the Medical University of South Carolina, Dr. Barrett completed his residency at the University of Maryland then returned to South Carolina to practice.
He started Palmetto Endodontics in 2001 and has completed over 40,000 procedures.

Dr. Barrett and his wife, Crystal, have two sons (both attend Wofford College) and reside in Columbia. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time hanging out with his family and friends at Wofford, fishing in Montana, chilling at Folly Beach, travelling to watch professional baseball games and driving tractors at his timber farm.

By far, Dr. Barrett, this facility and staff are the best of the best, Dr. Barrett's level of empathy, along with his staff is priority to make you experience what is mostly perceived as an unpleasant (root canal) procedure, to be completed with a swift, yet thorough and effective positive treatment approach. My scheduled procedure from time of request from my referring dentist located on the northeast side of Richland County to me sitting in Dr. Barrett's examination room on West Main Street in Lexington was less than 2 hours! The entire staff at this facility was accommodating without compromise, and Dr. Barrett's thorough explanation convinced me that I had made the right decision to have a much needed root canal procedure performed and had chosen the best care team throughout the Midlands, and beyond! The prompt "day after follow-up procedure call" was also professional, courteous and confirmed this office' promise of caring and to assist their clientele!
