After graduating first in his Dental School class from the Medical University of South Carolina, Dr. Barrett completed his residency at the University of Maryland then returned to South Carolina to practice.
He started Palmetto Endodontics in 2001 and has completed over 40,000 procedures.

Activities & Interests
Dr. Barrett and his wife, Crystal, have two sons (both attend Wofford College) and reside in Columbia. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time hanging out with his family and friends at Wofford, fishing in Montana, chilling at Folly Beach, travelling to watch professional baseball games and driving tractors at his timber farm.

Went for a root canal but X-ray indicated tooth decay under existing crown. Dr. Barrett removed the crown, cleaned decay and temporarily filled remaining tooth for general dentist to determine if it was best to pull it. He saved me the expense of the root canal, since ultimately it was pulled.

Great experience. Everyone at the Forest Dr office from beginning to end were friendly. Dr Barrett and his assistant were professional, kind, and concerned about my wellbeing throughout the procedure. I wasn’t excited to get a root canal, but they made it as pleasant as possible.
