Dr. April Spitz is a native of Bamberg, SC and graduated from the University of South Carolina, with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She continued her education at the Medical University of South Carolina, James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine earning a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD).
During her preclinical and clinical training, she developed a passion for the specialty of endodontics. After completing her DMD, she attended the Medical University of South Carolina where she earned her Specialty Certificate in Endodontics and Master of Science in Dentistry.
Dr. Spitz strives to provide compassionate and expert care utilizing her knowledge and today’s advanced micro-endodontic techniques.

Came in for a apicoectomy at the end of September. Dr. Spitz recommended an apico on my front right incisor and the lateral next to it. I have crowns on my six front teeth. Although Dr. Spitz told me there may be SOME gum recession I was not prepared for what was a total loss of papilla between my insicor and lateral tooth. I have since been seeing a dentist to try to figure out a plan to fix this. I feel my mouth is totally disfigured. I never dreamed trying to save a tooth would totally destroy my smile. I have been severely depressed since this has happened. I am going to a doctor for depression. I wish I could get a dentist to just pull my teeth and put in a partial or even a full denture. It would look better than the mess that is in my mouth but they won't do it. If they knew the mental anguish this is causing me maybe they would. They wouldn't want this in their mouth. I look at people with dentures and envy them because at least they are not embarrassed to smile. I used to be very outgoing. Now I hardly talk to anyone.
